About

My name is Ameya and I’m a City & Regional Planning student at Ohio State University, minoring in International Development.

I came into planning from a Gender Studies and International Studies background, so I approach planning issues from an equality-based perspective. Women, the young, the elderly, the disabled, the poor - all tend to suffer from isolation in sprawling suburbs and car dependent culture, and that is not acceptable. Neither are cities full of empty lots/parking lots, vacant houses, homeless families, vacant retail space, unemployed masses. The city itself is a key to many of it’s own problems, and it’s time we address those issues aggressively.
